Where I Post Page 46

“Oh. Well, I wasn’t really planning a séance. I’m not even really sure I know what that is.”
“Aww,” said Ron. “Well, what exactly do you do?”
“Don’t pester her, Ron. She doesn’t want to talk about it.” Frances said.
“No, it’s okay,” said Paloma. She had one of the more battered flowers in her hand. She petted it and tried to make it look fresh. “I kind of get a feel for the person, or animal, or even plant or object, and decide what needs to be done during the first visit. If we can do anything right then, we do it.”
“Wait, what do you mean ‘plant’?” Frances asked.
“Well, it has happened. Once.  A lady called and said she didn’t know why her plant suddenly started turning yellow and nothing they tried was working. So I went there and… well the plant seemed happy.”
Ron nodded, grinning.
Paloma continued. “Don’t laugh! I don’t advertise for plants. But this lady wanted me to go and see about the plant. So, the plant seemed happy and content. And then I got this real unbelievable thirst, like I just had chips or pizza and needed a drink.  I asked how much they watered it. The lady said they tried all kinds of watering. I still felt so thirsty. I asked if there was any possibility someone could have put salt in the water or on the plant.”
“Is that what it was?” asked Ron.
“I don’t know,” said Paloma. “The lady said she didn’t think so. But she had a funny look on her face. I never heard from her again.”
Frances looked at Paloma. That was a really pointless story. Honest. But pointless. Yet, something about it – pizza! “I bought pizza,” Frances announced. “Hey, your brother’s waking up.”
Paloma, Larry, Frances and Ron sat on Frances’ steps eating the cold pizza. Larry wasn’t supposed to eat so soon after going to the dentist, but he was really hungry, he said.
“So, are you going to quit all this psychic stuff?” he asked his sister. “I was hoping you would. It’s embarrassing being in a psychic family. Like, I can’t pretend everything’s okay. When me and Jill broke up and I came to do a load of clothes at mom’s, she was like, “I know everything isn’t fine,” Larry put on a terrible impression of a nasal-voiced woman. “I can see that your aura’s all muddy. Fine. Keep it to yourself if you want, but you’re not fooling me.” Larry bit down on the crunchy crust. “Ow! Ow ow!”
“Well, don’t go to mom’s house when you’re not prepared to talk about your problems,” said Paloma.
“The only thing I don’t get is why she didn’t try to diagnose you yet. Your aura probably looks like puke,” said Larry, cheerfully. “What with having all this post traumatic stress.” He looked at Frances. “So she didn’t make a good impression, huh? And your house still has ghosts?”

Where I decide to work on something else.

I'm just posting this picture for no reason, except I think I should post pictures when I write something for my blog that nobody reads. Just to make it nice to look at when I click on it. I don't know whose truck that is. I think one of us was just trying to get a picture of the sun. It might have been me since the other pictures are blurry and I'm the least talented photographer in this house.  I can't tell where that is either. Somewhere here on the reserve.

I don't think I can do the bigfoot thing. Not at this time.

I finished my screenplay! That is pretty awesome to be able to say.

I have another thing to do now. I have a lot of unfinished stuff so I decided on one thing to work on, and what needs to be done about it. Finish the half-finished novel called Ghosts and Other Nuisance Pests. Re-write parts of it, add different characters. Hoping to have this done by the end of November. Probably shouldn't say that and jinx myself. But I do! I do hope to finish by the end of November. Okay, I actually hope to finish by the middle of November but I'm not that delusional. (Did I use that right?) So... if I can do an average of  1000 words a day as well as edit and re-write my old work at 1000 words a day, I should do fine. End of November. I shall be a woman who has written a WHOLE BOOK. Won't that be nice?

Do people want to read about Bigfoot? Do people want to talk about Bigfoot?

Thinking of doing a non-fiction thing on Bigfoot sightings. Seriously. I can name four people off the top of my head who have seen them. They are normal everyday people. Okay, five. If I think about it more, there will be more names to add to the list.

Just a-wonderin' if it will be worth all the trouble. Convincing them to talk about it. Going to see them. I think interviews would have to be in-person, just because. Or would they? Anyway, I think someone should document the numerous sightings by everyday people. I'm just not sure if that someone is me. I will think about it. Oh... and When I feel more alert I will relate the story of a man who went to check his traps and was taken away for a whole summer by a family of these tall creatures.

Where I contemplate writing the end. Maybe.

Progress. 71 pages of script, properly formatted. On the last page of my rough draft. Must do some actual writing now, instead of just formatting. Well, I can do it. I can do THAT. I can and I will. Well, I am pretty sure I can. I think. I can see how it will be. Just have to sit down and do.

The picture above is the work of my daughter. It's a trail in September.

So far have not done any writing today, but that can change. Did some yesterday and the day before and that worked out great. Oh... I may have to use index cards and things. Or coloured paper? I don't know!  It will work out fine. I shall do a rough draft of my ending. That's the best way.

I'd like to Thank the Little People

My daughter took this picture two years ago when she was ten. It doesn't even have a title!

Well, I am very very good. So far have formatted 34 pages of properly formatted screenplay, which is both witty and amusing.

I am happy about that. I'd like to thank all the little people who made this possible. Haha. That started out as a silly sentence but it turns out it is a double entendre. I would like to thank the Little People. Because they are behind a good part of all that is witty and amusing in this world. And I would like to give them jellybeans or some other type of candy. Perhaps black licorice.

Old Car With A Tree Growing Through It

Here is a picture taken by somebody in my family, maybe my talented husband, I'm not too sure. The title is Old Car With A Tree Growing Through It, and it even has wooden floor boards, or what's left of them.

I have made more progress. I'm pretty happy about the way it's going. I do not hate formatting a screenplay. I don't hate it at all.

I set the timer for forty minutes of work, which may not sound like much, but sit there after forty minutes and you're not going to get anything done anyway. So I set the session for forty minutes with a twenty minute break. I like it. A little screen pops up and says "You've done enough, time for a break!" Or something like that. I did it twice although my second forty minute session was interrupted by some pet-related distraction. Or maybe it was something else. Yes, possibly I had to emergency-clean because someone was coming here. Yes. That should actually happen more. Not the interruptions, the emergency-cleaning. Anyway, I paused the timer thing. So I didn't lose any minutes. And when I went to start again the timer was still paused so I actually did more than forty minutes. I got fifteen pages when it's put into PDF form. I am really pretty happy about it.

The picture of the car was taken in April this year.  It's in the bush off a road called Bouvier Trail near the man-made hill that people like to snowboard down, breaking their various limbs in the winter. The hill is very steep and has jumps and tube things sticking out and it's just broken limbs waiting to happen. I wonder how it happened that somebody left a car there and leaves fell on it and trees began to grow through it. It had wooden frame pieces for the walls and roof. It's a very cool old car.

Where I Make Some Impressive Progress Before Noon

Here is a fine picture of a fine milk thistle flower, taken by one of my talented offspring. The title is Milk Thistle, Pointy and Green. And also White. And Purple.

I have good news. Good news for me. I used Celtx for two whole hours this morning. It's not that bad. It's actually very easy. I don't fear it! And it even has a timer so a person can schedule in how long to work for and how long to take a break for. I actually AM a fan of it. I may actually make myself that beaded bracelet. Then I'd have to explain to people what it said and that would probably get a little weird when I said it's the name of a computer program that I use for writing. I mean people usually make name bracelets for their kids or grandbabies sometimes. Sometimes for loved ones who are gone off to war. So it would be a little odd. And no, I don't have any stock in Celtx. I just don't hate it and actually like it and I'm very relieved. Because I want to write properly formatted stuff and I was afraid of doing it before. So WHEW. What a relief.

Progress today: Six pages of properly formatted screenplay. Got used to the program. Discovered the work session and break timer.

Feeling: Very very good.
