Where I contemplate writing the end. Maybe.

Progress. 71 pages of script, properly formatted. On the last page of my rough draft. Must do some actual writing now, instead of just formatting. Well, I can do it. I can do THAT. I can and I will. Well, I am pretty sure I can. I think. I can see how it will be. Just have to sit down and do.

The picture above is the work of my daughter. It's a trail in September.

So far have not done any writing today, but that can change. Did some yesterday and the day before and that worked out great. Oh... I may have to use index cards and things. Or coloured paper? I don't know!  It will work out fine. I shall do a rough draft of my ending. That's the best way.

I'd like to Thank the Little People

My daughter took this picture two years ago when she was ten. It doesn't even have a title!

Well, I am very very good. So far have formatted 34 pages of properly formatted screenplay, which is both witty and amusing.

I am happy about that. I'd like to thank all the little people who made this possible. Haha. That started out as a silly sentence but it turns out it is a double entendre. I would like to thank the Little People. Because they are behind a good part of all that is witty and amusing in this world. And I would like to give them jellybeans or some other type of candy. Perhaps black licorice.

Old Car With A Tree Growing Through It

Here is a picture taken by somebody in my family, maybe my talented husband, I'm not too sure. The title is Old Car With A Tree Growing Through It, and it even has wooden floor boards, or what's left of them.

I have made more progress. I'm pretty happy about the way it's going. I do not hate formatting a screenplay. I don't hate it at all.

I set the timer for forty minutes of work, which may not sound like much, but sit there after forty minutes and you're not going to get anything done anyway. So I set the session for forty minutes with a twenty minute break. I like it. A little screen pops up and says "You've done enough, time for a break!" Or something like that. I did it twice although my second forty minute session was interrupted by some pet-related distraction. Or maybe it was something else. Yes, possibly I had to emergency-clean because someone was coming here. Yes. That should actually happen more. Not the interruptions, the emergency-cleaning. Anyway, I paused the timer thing. So I didn't lose any minutes. And when I went to start again the timer was still paused so I actually did more than forty minutes. I got fifteen pages when it's put into PDF form. I am really pretty happy about it.

The picture of the car was taken in April this year.  It's in the bush off a road called Bouvier Trail near the man-made hill that people like to snowboard down, breaking their various limbs in the winter. The hill is very steep and has jumps and tube things sticking out and it's just broken limbs waiting to happen. I wonder how it happened that somebody left a car there and leaves fell on it and trees began to grow through it. It had wooden frame pieces for the walls and roof. It's a very cool old car.

Where I Make Some Impressive Progress Before Noon

Here is a fine picture of a fine milk thistle flower, taken by one of my talented offspring. The title is Milk Thistle, Pointy and Green. And also White. And Purple.

I have good news. Good news for me. I used Celtx for two whole hours this morning. It's not that bad. It's actually very easy. I don't fear it! And it even has a timer so a person can schedule in how long to work for and how long to take a break for. I actually AM a fan of it. I may actually make myself that beaded bracelet. Then I'd have to explain to people what it said and that would probably get a little weird when I said it's the name of a computer program that I use for writing. I mean people usually make name bracelets for their kids or grandbabies sometimes. Sometimes for loved ones who are gone off to war. So it would be a little odd. And no, I don't have any stock in Celtx. I just don't hate it and actually like it and I'm very relieved. Because I want to write properly formatted stuff and I was afraid of doing it before. So WHEW. What a relief.

Progress today: Six pages of properly formatted screenplay. Got used to the program. Discovered the work session and break timer.

Feeling: Very very good.

Sunday Morning When I Write a Blog Entry For Practically No Reason

Here is another fine art photograph taken by one of my talented offspring. The title is Rose, Clover, and Various other Flowers on a Scraped Grey Clay Background in Early July.

It is Sunday Morning and I didn't want to forget about my blog. So far I didn't make any progress, due to not having tried since last night when I started this blog. However, I shall have more to report later on.
At this point in time in my house, my child is reading from her World, Its People And Places textbook, saying things like longitudinal and latitudinal and wondering if the earth is spinning clockwise or counterclockwise when you imagine floating above the South Pole and looking down at the direction of spin from your floating vantage point. My other three children are sleeping. My husband just plucked keys off the wall and stepped outside without telling me where he might be going.

I had another dream to do with writing. It was very cluttered. I went to buy a notebook and also bought a sweater that somehow had a jar full of pen tips in the pocket. WRITING TIPS.

I can't think of an appropriate ending sentence, so this is it. The post is over.

My Initial Post That Nobody Will Be Reading

Here's a gorgeous picture taken by one of my talented offspring. It's called Bubbles, Floating Dreamily Beside a River That Some People Mistakenly Refer To as A Lake Because It's Very Wide At This Point.

Prints are available.

Okay. I'm going to use this to keep track of my progress with all my projects. With the hopeful assumption that I will have progress to keep track of. And I sort of know you're not supposed to end a sentence with something like 'to keep track of' but I don't really know that rule, so I don't know how to fix that sentence. And more importantly, I don't want any suggestions.
Progress I hope to have in order to keep track of it.  That just sounds like I don't know what I'm doing. So maybe that's better, since I don't want to be dishonest in representing my abilities about crazy grammar rules.

Anyway, (ANYWAY) I want to get some work done and I want to blog about it. I don't actually WANT to blog about it, but I need some way to make myself do work. And having the semi-fun task of reporting on it every day or week is probably going to help.

Ahhh... and I can also share my excellent pieces of advice. I can share my golden nuggets of wisdom. I had a nap this evening. And I woke up with this piece of advice. It sounded much better before I said it out loud in order to avoid forgetting it. Somebody told me this in a dream. I forget the exact words of the first part, but the part in quotes is word for word, I think. I was given writing advice IN A DREAM. This is a big deal. Okay, now this is what she said. Because I don't remember much of the dream, except that somebody told me this, and then I woke up.
You can write whatever you want "as long as it's wrapped in a comfortable layer of you."
Isn't that wise? Isn't that profound?
Just nod and smile politely. I know it sounds funny. But it made so much sense when I was half asleep.
And there was another part, involving not leaving out the layer so I wouldn't have to go back and fix things as much. It really made a lot of sense.I was impressed for a few minutes. I got the MEANING of the whole idea, even though it sounds funny when I try to use words to explain it. And I also had the half-asleep inspiration to make myself a beaded bracelet that had the name of my screenwriting program on it. Yes, this all sounded great when I was half-asleep. I'm going to bead a bracelet that says Celtx. If I actually do this, the point is to make myself be a fan of Celtx, instead of being afraid of it. It's all very deep and important.

All I need now is to magically get the Celtx screenwriting program to somehow format my rough draft all  by itself.
